A new handheld tablet computing device from Apple Inc. that first launched in January 2010. The iPad is designed for consumers who want a mobile device that is bigger than a smartphone but smaller than a laptop for entertainment multimedia.The iPad device is roughly the size of a sheet of paper and weighs 1.5 pounds. The screen is a 9.7-inch LED backlit glossy multi-touch screen, capable of displaying up to 1024x768 pixel resolution (2048x1536 resolution in the Retina Display of the iPad 3 and iPad4).Other features include 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, Enhanced Data Rate (EDR), and options for 3G cellular connectivity (4G LTE in the newer iPads). At launch, the price for an iPad ranged from $499 (16GB) to $699 (64GB). iPads run the the Apple iOS, a mobile operating system that is also used for the company's iPhone, iPod touch, Apple TV and similar mobile devices.  The iPad is currently in its fourth generation, with the iPad 4 having debuted in late October 2012. A smaller (7.85-inch) version of the iPad called the iPad Mini is also available.

2. iPAD 2nd GENERATION

The iPad 2 is a tablet designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc. Compared to the first iPad, as the second device in the iPad line it gained a faster dual core A5 processor, a lighter build structure, and was the first iPad to feature VGA front-facing and 720p rear-facing cameras designed for FaceTime video calling. 3. iPAD 3rd GENERATION

 The third device in the iPad line of tablets, it added a Retina display, the new Apple A5X chip with a quad-coregraphics processor.In the US and Canada, nine variations of the third-generation iPad were offered, compared to six in the rest of the world, although some countries had only the Wi-Fi only model.The tablet was released in ten countries on March 16, 2012. 4. iPAD 4th GENERATION

Compared to its predecessor, the fourth-generation iPad maintained the Retina Display but featured new and upgraded components such as the Apple A6X chip,and the Lightning  connector, which was introduced on September 12, 2012. It was announced at a media conference on October 23, 2012 as the fourth generation of the iPad line.The device was released throughout December in 10 other countries including China, India and Brazil. The third generation was discontinued following the fourth's announcement, after only seven months of general availability.The fourth-generation iPad received primarily positive reviews and was praised for its hardware improvements as well as the Retina display.

The iPad Air is the fifth-generation iPad tablet computer designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc.The iPad Air features a thinner design with similarities to the contemporary iPad Mini 2, along with the same 64-bit Apple A7 processor with M7 coprocessor.  iPad Mini 3 was announced alongside the iPad Air 2 on October 16, 2014 and then released on October 22. It uses primarily the same design and hardware as that of its predecessor, the iPad Mini 2. Its new features are the addition of the Touch ID sensor compatible with Apple Pay. The iPad Mini 3 uses almost exactly the same design as that of the iPad Mini 2. The iPad Mini 3 received positive reviews but drew fainter praise than its predecessor, as it was identical to the iPad Mini 2 except for the addition of Touch ID and the availability of the gold color.

iPad Pro is a line of tablet computers designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc., that runs the iOS mobile operating system.
